Ellis GA4 Based Web Traffic Dashboards

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) dashboards in Ellis:

  • Web Traffic Overview (GA4) & Store Conversions (GA4) shows summary data similarly to previous Ellis dashboards connected to Google Universal Analytics (UA).

  • Audience Analysis (GA4), Behavior Analysis (GA4) & Traffic Acquisition (GA4) are completely new analysis tools built on top of Google’s new event model. These tools are meant for advanced users that would like to explore raw event data and create their own detailed analyses.

Google will continue to support UA-based web traffic tracking until July 1, 2023. Data collected with UA will remain visible in Ellis after that.

Metrics and Data Analysis Differences

Ellis relies on web traffic data provided by Google Universal Analytics (UA) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4):

    • GA4 and UA tracking metrics aren't comparable, there are significant changes in metrics. For more details, see Google's documentation

    • GA4 makes approximations, sampling, and models the gaps in event data. GA4 user interface, summary metrics, and raw event has data differences, Ellis Web Traffic Overview (GA4), Store Conversions (GA4) summary data based dashboards and all Ellis Analysis (GA4) dashboards data values has differences, values are not equal.
