Sales Trends Dashboard

The Sales Trends Dashboard displays detailed analysis about different sales metrics like sales by customers, source medium, order frequency, time of day and week and by region.

The dashboard can be filtered according to store, time, source name, and comparison period.

Please note that the "Source Name" filter includes all possible sales channels connected to Shopify, such as Point of Sale, unfinished draft orders, and channels like Amazon.

Sales KPI by Store

Sales KPIs by Store table compares all Sales KPIs between different stores (to select stores use 'Store Name' filter from Dashboard's main filter panel). Source: Shopify


KPI Charts

  • Sales: (calculated as Total price of orders) dynamics over Selected Period. To change Selected Period displayed on the chart navigate to dashboard's main filter panel. Source: Shopify
  • Orders: Order count over the current period. Source: Shopify
  • Discount Rate: Discount rate on all orders over the selected time period. Represents the average discount rate considering all orders, including both discounted and non-discounted orders. The discount rate is computed as order's total discounts divided by the sum of order's total discounts and order's total price. Source: Shopify
  • Return Rate: Return rate over the current period. The return rate is the ratio between the order count with at least one applied refund and the total order count. Source: Shopify
  • ABS: The average basket size (ABS) over the current period. Represents the average item count on an order. Source: Shopify
  • APV: The average product value (APV) over the current period. The APV is computed as the total line item price (after discounts and taxes without returns) divided by the item count. Source: Shopify
  • AOV:  Average order value (AOV) over the current period. AOV is calculated by subtracting the total tax-free discounts from the gross sales and then dividing it by the order count. Source: Shopify

Sales Distribution Trends

  • Sales by Customer type chart shows the distribution of Sales (calculated as total price of orders) between New and Returning Customers over Selected Period in monetary representation. To change Selected Period displayed on the chart navigate to dashboard's main filter panel. Source: Shopify
  • Sales by Source Medium chart shows the distribution of Sales by Source Medium in Web over Selected Period. Sales (Total Price of orders) on the chart shown as dark green line whereas Orders (Count of Orders) represented as light green bar charts. Source: Google Analytics
  • Sales by Time of the Day chart shows the distribution of Sales by Time of the Day over Selected Period. Sales (Total Price of orders) on the chart shown as dark green line whereas Orders (Count of Orders) represented as light green bar charts. Source: Shopify
  • Sales by Day of the Week chart shows the distribution of Sales by Day of the Week over Selected Period. Sales (Total Price of orders) on the chart shown as dark green line whereas Orders (Count of Orders) represented as light green bar charts. Source: Shopify
  • Sales log table is dedicated to operational monitoring of Sales Performance. Click on the bar chart to drill-down in order details. Source: Shopify
  • Orders by Customer type chart shows the distribution of Orders by New and Returning Customers over Selected Period. To change Selected Period displayed on the chart navigate to dashboard's main filter panel. Source: Shopify
  • Ordering Frequency By Products table shows the frequency of Ordering Products in Selected Period. 'Purchase Frequency' score calculated as Orders Count divided by Customers Count. The results show the first 100 results, but the full data can be downloaded separately. Source: Shopify
  • Sales by Regions map regions of countries are coloured by Sales performance. Hovering a region with the cursor opens up a tool tip that provides the Sales and Number of Orders in that particular region. Source: Shopify
